Meet Jason Manley
Jason Manley is the visionary founder of Heroes United, a groundbreaking charity dedicated to supporting veterans, law enforcement officers, firefighters, and EMTs. Drawing from his own profound experiences, Jason brings a unique perspective and unwavering commitment to this cause.
A combat veteran, Jason served in Iraq from 2003 to 2006 and in Afghanistan in 2008. During his service, he faced the brutal realities of war, which led to a diagnosis of chronic PTSD. For years, Jason struggled silently with mental health challenges, including suicidal thoughts, feeling isolated and without relief.
In a pivotal moment, Jason adopted a shelter dog named Abraham Lincoln. This decision marked the beginning of a transformative journey. Training Abraham as a service dog revealed the miraculous healing power of a canine companion. The unconditional love and companionship Abraham provided became a lifeline for Jason, offering a sense of peace and stability that traditional therapies had not achieved.
Through this life-changing experience, Jason realized the potential for canine companions to serve as therapeutic allies for others facing similar struggles. Driven by a deep desire to help his fellow veterans, Jason created two innovative canine companion programs. These programs have since changed and saved the lives of over 100 veterans, proving the profound impact of these bonds.
Recognizing the broader need for support, Jason expanded his mission. He founded Heroes United to address the often-overlooked challenges faced by first responders—heroes who serve with dedication yet frequently lack adequate support and resources. Jason passionately believes that these individuals are the backbone of our communities, essential to the freedoms and safety we cherish.
Under Jason's leadership, Heroes United aims to unite veterans and first responders not only with canine companions but also with each other, fostering a supportive community. The charity seeks to address the escalating mental health and suicide crisis among these groups, ensuring they receive the recognition and care they deserve.
